Dr. Allison Human

My Approach & Values

Dr. Allison Kirsten Human is a specialist psychiatrist who started her undergraduate career at the University of Cape Town where she qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree in 2014. She then completed her medical internship and community service in Johannesburg based hospitals. During this time she furthered her academic journey by obtaining a Diploma in Primary Emergency Care through the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.

Her passion for holistic mental healthcare subsequently fuelled her to pursue a specialisation in the field of Psychiatry through the University of Witwatersrand which she obtained in 2023.

She has since been practicing at a specialised psychiatric hospital in Johannesburg where she works in an outpatient department and an inpatient eating disorder unit. She has also facilitated inpatient psychotherapy programs.

Dr. Human believes in a comprehensive yet individualised treatment plan aimed at improving mental well being and optimising daily function. She strongly believes in evidence based, multidisciplinary team management while considering the spiritual and cultural nuances associated with each client.
